Tea Eggs can be found in almost every convenience store in Taiwan. They are hard-boiled eggs that are marinated in aromatic seasoned tea. The evenly cracked shell creates a shining broken glass effect. Enjoy this convenient protein delicacy.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 eggs washed
  • 4 bags black tea
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 2-4 tbsp (brown) sugar

Tea Eggs Culinary Spice Kit

  • Fennel, star anise, cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorn, Sichuan peppercorn (not recommended during pregnancy)

Instructions
 

Step 1

  • Boil the eggs for 10 minutes. Rinse them under cold water. Let them cool. Crack the eggshells slightly by tapping them gently with the back of a spoon. Set them aside.

Step 2

  • In a POT, boil 3 cups of water. Turn heat off. Steep the tea bags into the water for 5 minutes. Take the tea bags out.
  • Add soy sauce, sugar, and Tea Egg spices. Mix well. Add the eggs.
  • Bring to a boil. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Turn the eggs halfway.

Step 3

  • Let cool. Transfer the eggs and liquid to a container with lid. Keep the container overnight in the fridge. Turn the eggs once in a while.
  • Optionally, reheat eggs in the liquid, not in the microwave.
  • Serve the eggs cold or warm.
  • Enjoy!

Do you like the smooth, elastic, and chewy texture of mochi? 

If so, then this will be your next favorite recipe. The cake has a mochi-style inside, that is a bit juicier with a slightly crunchy top. 

Alternatively, make fluffy muffins or an eggless thin cake.

Matcha Mochi Dessert Culinary Spice Kit Ingredients
  • Matcha powder
Dry Ingredients

1.5       cups     sweet rice flour

1          cup       sugar

1.5       tsp        baking powder

0.25     tsp        salt

1.5       tbsp      Mochi Matcha Dessert spices

Optional 

Add 3 tbsp white chocolate chips or shredded coconut.

 

Wet Ingredients

1                       egg, whisked

0.5       cup       oil

1          cup       coconut milk

Alternative

Substitute coconut milk with any other milk.

Directions

In a BOWL, mix all dry ingredients. 

Add wet ingredients and mix until it’s a smooth batter without clumps.

Fill the batter into a greased 8″ x 8″ baking pan.

Bake in the OVEN at 350°F for 45 minutes. Let it cool.

Optionally, decorate with melted white chocolate.

Wet Ingredients

Bake in the OVEN at 350°F for 45 minutes. Let it cool.

Romantic indulgence doesn’t have to be limited to Valentines Day. Treat yourself and your love with a special dessert on any day of the year with this easy recipe and our chocolate rose dessert culinary spice kit.

Chocolate Rose Dessert Culinary Spice Kit Ingredients
  • Dark intense Valrhonna cocoa powder from France 
  • Rosebud powder
Dry Dough Ingredients

1/4 cup flour

1/8 cup sugar

1/2 tsp baking powder

2 tsp from the chocolate rose blend

Wet Dough Ingredients

1/8 cup milk

1/2 tbsp butter, melted

Ingredients for Topping

1/8 cup sugar

remaining chocoloate rose blend

pinch of salt

1/3 cup of water

Preparing the Dough

In a BOWL, mix the dry dough ingredients.

Add the wet dough ingredients.

Knead well.

 

Preparing the Forms

Distribute the dough into two or four cupcake forms, depending on the size of the forms, or heart shaped baking forms.

Mix the ingredients for the topping and sprinkle the mixture over the dough in the forms.

Pour the water equally on top of all forms.

Finishing

Bake in the oven at 350° F for 30 minutes.

 

Serve warm.

Optionally, add vanilla ice cream or raspberry or strawberry sauce.

Chocolate Rose Nut Pudding

Dry Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar

2 tbsp starch*

1 pouch chocolate rose blend

a pinch of salt

* We recommend tapioca flour or arrowroot powder for a change. However, corn starch works too.

Wet Ingredients

1 cup of milk

1 egg yolk, slightly beaten

Other Ingredients

1/2 tbsp butter

1/8 cup chopped nuts**

** We recommend hazelnuts or walnuts. You may choose any other nuts of your liking.

Directions

In a small POT, add and mix all dry ingredients.

Stir in the wet ingredients.

Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

Turn heat to low. Stirring constantly, cook over low heat for 1 minute.

Remove from the heat and stir in the butter. 

Pour pudding into 2 serving cups.

Sprinkle with chopped nuts to taste.

Cover and let cool. Transfer the cups to the fridge until serving.

Ingredients
  

Shopping list

  • 2 cans garbanzo beans rinsed, (15.5 oz each)
  • 1 can pineapple chunks drained (keep the liquid), 20 oz
  • 1 bunch cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 English cucumber grated
  • 8-16 Flat bread of your choice (e.g. naan or Mexican tortilla)
  • 5 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 shallot finely chopped
  • 1-3 lime for juice
  • oil
  • salt & pepper

Doubles Culinary Spice Kit

  • Pouch [1] cumin, amchoor, turmeric, yellow mustard, curry leaves, fenugreek, onion, ginger, coriander,  cayenne, cilantro, garlic, cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon 
  • Pouch [2] Scotch bonnet pepper

Instructions
 

Pineapple Chow

  • In a BOWL, mix the pineapple chunks with 1/4 cup cilantro and half of the garlic.
  • Add to taste: pineapples can liquid, lime juice, Doubles [2] spices, and salt. Mix well.
  • Cover and let rest for 1/2-2 hours.

Cook

  • In a large POT, 2 tbsp oil over medium heat.
  • Add the shallots and half of the garlic.
  • Fry over medium heat until the shallots turn translucent.
  • Add the garbanzo beans and Doubles [1] spices. Mix well.
  • Add 1 1/4 cup of water and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Mash some of the beans with a fork or potato masher.
  • Add 1 tbsp cilantro.

Flatbread

  • In a PAN, quickly reheat or fry the bread with some oil or heat the tortilla without oil.

Serve

  • Serve the beans on flatbread, topped with pineapple chow, and cucumber.
  • Enjoy!

  • Substitute pineapple with mango,
  • Substitute cilantro with parsley or chives.
  • Substitute some beans with ground meat.

Dig in a bread bowl filled with this hearty soup and savor the taste of freshly ground Hungarian paprika. Gulyás or Goulash is Hungary's national dish. It was invented by Hungarian cattlemen and became their favorite dish. Originally, it was a soup, not a stew. We kept this intention along with the typical ingredients.

Shopping list

  • 1 lb beef stew meat (*)
  • 1 lb potatoes cut in bite size pieces
  • 1-2 red or green bell pepper cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 1 can tomato/es whole or chopped (8 oz)
  • 24 oz beef or vegetable broth

Optional for serving

  • 3-4 small round bread

You might have

  • 2 onions chopped
  • oil
  • salt & pepper

Culinary Spice Kit

  • Hungarian paprika, marjoram, black pepper, bay leaves

Instructions
 

Gulyás

  • In a large POT, heat 2 tbsp oil over high heat.
  • Season meat with salt and pepper.
  • Fry meat until all sides turn slightly brown.
  • Stir in Gulyás Spices and fry some seconds without burning the spices.
  • Add onions, tomatoes, broth, and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Cover the POT. Bring to boil. Turn heat to low-medium and cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Make sure that the soup is cooking slowly but doesn't stop to cook.
  • Add potatoes and bell peppers. Cook 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are just cooked.

Optional serving

  • Cut off the top of each bread.
  • Scoop most of the inside out.
  • Fill with Gulyás. Serve immediately.
  • Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz lasagna*
  • 1/2 lb ground meat e.g. beef, pork
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 8 oz ricotta
  • 1 bunch lacinato kale chopped
  • 8 oz mozzarella thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup parmesan grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • salt

Lasagne Culinary Spice Kit

  • Onion, oregano, basil, marjoram, sage, garlic, chile, celery 

Instructions
 

Sauce**

  • In a PAN, heat 2 tbsp oil.
  • Careful of splatters, add tomato puree, ground meat, salt to taste, and Lasagne spices.
  • Cook over medium-low heat for 30 to 90 minutes.

Ricotta

  • In a BOWL, mix ricotta with 4 tbsp of the sauce.

Lasagne

  • In a large PAN, spread one ladle of the sauce on the bottom.
  • Create a layer of pasta, crossing the sheets slightly between them.
  • Add the following layers in this order:
  • sauce, ricotta, kale, mozzarella.
  • Make sure all layers are thin.
  • Repeat the layers until the pasta is used up.
  • Finish with a layer of parmesan and basil.
  • Cover with a LID and cook the lasagne in the PAN for about 15 minutes over medium-low heat until the pasta is cooked.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use pasta that doesn't require precooking.
** The sauce is best when made 1-3 days ahead.
▪ Substitute kale with spinach.
▪ Use one layer of ham instead of the ground meat.
▪ Omit the meat for a vegetarian version.
▪ Substitute ricotta and mozzarella with your favorite sliced cheese or with a béchamel sauce.
