Japanese Shichimi Shrimp

SpiceBreeze
Shichimi Togarashi is as popular in Japan as salt & pepper is in the US. It is often mixed with seaweed and salt and can be very spicy. The spice blend goes well with any grilled meat or vegetables and with salads or rice. Our shrimp recipe has many variations, such as chicken and vegetarian proteins. Alternatively, use Shichimi Togarashi as a tabletop condiment. Just use it as soon as convenient for optimal flavor.

FAQ

  • Our Herbes de Provence blend which includes an uncommon herb: European hyssop. This ‘holy herb’ has a minty, slightly bitter, but pleasurable taste, different from North American anise hyssop.
  • Plenty of fresh vegetables are fried before they are cooked in a tomato-broth.
  • Make it a stew or soup (all versions recipe).

The cooking steps are  minimal and quick. Here are some extra tips for time efficiency:

  • Make the dish the day before.
  • Make it a side dish to leftover rice or potatoes, or use up some bread.
The preparation of this dish is quiet easy:
  • Cut vegetables.
  • Fry vegetables.
  • Cook vegetables.

The Breeze Way recipe is the stew version with optional sides.

  • The challenge here is not to burn the vegetables in the first frying step. Please stay close to the pot during these 10 minutes. If some of the vegetables are burnt, take them out and cut the burnt parts off.
  • During the cooking step, please make sure to check the softness of the vegetables, so you get the result that you prefer.

A Lot on Your Aussie Burger

Pineapple and beetroot? Serious? Yes! Who dares wins!

But this is not all. The Aussie Burger is also called “Burger with a lot” due to its many layers. Beetroot and pineapple are characteristic ingredients, and so is a sunny side up egg. Add your onions, bacon, or cheese, just as you like your favorite burger anyway.

Tasmanian Tomato Salad Side

Add a fruity tomato side salad with a kick from precious Tasmanian pepperberries, also called Mountain Pepper. Notice the slightly purple color that the berries develop in the vinaigrette.

Variations
  • Substitute beef with other meat, or with large portabello mushrooms.
