Rökt med Pepparrotssas

Pepparrotssas is a traditional Scandinavian horseradish sauce. It is especially popular in Sweden served with smoked or boiled fish, beef, or vegetables. Smoked proteins bring the weeknight dinner faster to the table. Why do not have it at least twice a month?

Horseradish Powder is Different
Horseradish in the form of powder creates a subtle pungency that doesn’t burn like fresh grated horseradish. If you want to increase the pungency, go for the cold pepparrotssas.

Pepparrotssas Culinary Spice Kit Ingredients:

[1] Horseradish powder

[2] Organic dill weed

Warm Pepparrotssas

1) In a small POT, melt butter over low-medium heat.

2) Stir in flour until well blended. Be careful not to burn the mixture.

3) Little by little, stir in 1 cup of the broth.

4) Slowly add milk. Cook on low heat for 2-5 minutes, until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Turn off heat.

5) Just now, in a little CUP, mix Pepparrotssas Spices [1] with a little water until smooth. Stir mixture into sauce. Don’t heat again! Add salt + pepper to taste.

Serve Pepparrotssas over potatoes and vegetables to the smoked protein. Sprinkle generously with Pepparrotssas Spices [2].

Cold Pepparrotssas

Skip steps 1)-4). Stir mixture from step 5) into 1 cup yogurt.
